Skipping in Borroloola

In December 2024, Skipping NT visited Borroloola to deliver skipping workshop at the Borroloola School, plus Marra and Garrwa camps.

This visit is supported by our sponsor McArthur River Mine (MRM) and we are delighted to participate in this annual program to 'give back' to MRM's host community.

School-based skipping workshop

Learn2Jump
28 x individual World Jump Rope Champion, Luke Boon, has just released his newly developed Learn2Jump program. This is a fantastic program that incorporates:
  • Detailed lesson plans
  • Skills checklist that clearly describes each skipping skill and allows students track their progress
  • 50 instructional videos, breaking down each skills to help kids to master them

The program costs $200 per school, however Skipping NT could help subsidise this cost for NT schools and also assist with purchasing ropes, if needed.  Email us to express your interest – [email protected]

Skipping incursion program
Skipping NT, in partnership with Jump Force International, runs skipping incursion programs at schools across the NT.
The program focused on exposing students to schools and their students to the joys of skipping.

"I am so impressed how quickly our students have improved their skipping skills.  They have loved learning new tricks and rope skipping is definitely an activity that we are keen to do more of in the future." Amy Buick, Health and PE teacher, Clyde Fenton Primary School, Katherine.

Skipping NT is interested in hearing from NT schools that would be interested in hosting a half or full day skipping incursion program.
